Have you spotted the new advert from DFS, featuring none other than Wallace and Gromit? Now showing on TV, the Christmas campaign is filled with the trademark charm for which the duo are world famous.
In the commercial, Wallace and Gromit take Wallace's latest invention - the carol singing 'Ewe-phonia' out on the streets to spread some festive cheer around the neighbourhood. Pulled along by a sleigh (note the pun in the number plate!), the Ewe-phonia - a never-been-seen-before sheep-singing machine - sets to work...but as the night wears on, poor Gromit starts to wish he was tucked up indoors, next to a warm, cosy fire.
Luckily for Gromit, one householder takes pity on the duo, inviting them in to enjoy a rest and the chance to warm up before they head back into the night.
Aardman Director, Will Becher said: “I’m thrilled to be bringing Wallace & Gromit back to our screens for this special Christmas spot with DFS, in a warm and wonderful winter tale – involving carol singing sheep. Having previously directed a feature film, it’s been a great challenge to discover just how much heart and comedy we can pack into 30 seconds. ‘A Comfy Carol’ is Aardman’s first production to complete since lockdown in March, and it felt like the perfect story to bring these well-loved characters back to life in the studio.”
Look out for a special Christmas-themed filter, created for DFS, which will be coming to social soon - watch this space!
