Wallace & Gromit to return for new film in 2024
It’s the news Wallace & Gromit fans have been waiting for – we’re thrilled to announce that Nick Park’s iconic duo are returning for a new film in 2024!
Nick has gone back to his roots and the characters he created back in 1989, which have become adored by fans across the globe. Now, over 30 years since they came into being, Nick has created an exciting new story for Wallace & Gromit that will be premiered exclusively on Netflix globally, with the exception of the UK, where it will debut first on the BBC.
We’re delighted to share some details of the story with you, too…
Gromit’s concern that Wallace has become over-dependant on his inventions proves justified when Wallace invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own...as events spiral out of control, it falls to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces - or Wallace may never be able to invent again!
Nick will be joined by Merlin Crossingham, Creative Director of Wallace & Gromit, in directing the film; Merlin is not only a veteran of the original Chicken Run film but he’s been a key member of the Aardman crew on a number of major releases, including Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and Early Man, on which he was Animation Director. Merlin is also Series Director of The Epic Adventures of Morph and was Creative Director of Wallace & Gromit’s first Augmented Reality story, The Big Fix Up.
The new film doesn’t have a title yet, but writing and storyboarding are in progress so we’ll be sharing any new news and information on the project as and when we have it, so watch this space!
