On the 17th June 2009, Jim Rees will compete in the Race Across America (RAAM) to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit’s Children’s Foundation. Race Across America continues to stand as one the toughest events in the world and a tribute to human endurance, mentally, spiritually and physically, a staggering 3044 miles from San Diego to Annapolis covering the Rockies, the heartland of America, and finally the Appalachian, against the clock! This will be Jim’s third consecutive solo race and he will be attempting to break the British Record of 9 days & 17 hours – which will mean he will need to be on his bike for around 22 hours and cycle between 250 & 350 miles every day!
