WALLACE & GROMIT CHAT » PICTURES OF MODELS YOU HAVE MADE
I think it might be a rig. I don't think it's big enough to see though.
why do they look like rext the runt characters? ![]()
Film makers are always taking references from other peoples work, Preston in 'The Close Shave' takes strong references from 'The Terminator' film, its Artistic licence.
Nick Parks is always drawing apone other films for ideas and does a great job in my book, that’s probably why he has 4 Oscars to his name.
Yeah, so do I, Cavor. ![]()
thats basicly nicking richard "golly" work then isnt it... ![]()
Yes, I suppose so.![]()
Hi jordan I felt it was obvious myself that Go W&G was doing a take on 'Rex The Runt'.
But in this world sometimes people do come up with similar or very near copies of peoples work non intentionally,
With Over 60,000,000 citizens in the UK alone this is hardly surprising to find.
I don't think Aardmans or Richard Goleszowski (Golly) will feel that Go W&G is doing anymore than paying homage to there great work.
I also draw heavily from films for inspiration, my last creation ( http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/creations/view/586 ) had a robot I made some time back that paid homage to the Robot in the 1956 classic film The Forbidden planet.
enjoy your Christmas break & I look forward to seeing some of your work in the near future.
Picture of Robby Robot inset:
I've never seen The Forbidden Planet.![]()
The thing banana boy is sitting is actualy a squewer which acts as a rig but you can't see it when filming.I made the door on the house out of cardboad and then painted it with water colour paint.
mark the shark, forbidden planet is a toy shop, its ok, lots of comics n stuff, but im not crazy about it
You know you are right conty Forbidden Planet is a shop but the one I was referring to is a film that’s a bit before my time let alone anyone on this site, its an old 'B' movie classic Sci-Fi (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Forbidden-Planet-50th-Anniversary-Special/dp/B000O3HFYM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1198705101&sr=8-1) 1956 ![]()
Hi there i just went to Hobby craft and bought some modelling clay. And i learnt something, FIMO IS SO DEAR £8.00 for a block. Newplast is only £2.50 for a large block. Well hopefully soon i will be uploadeing my version o fpc makintosh. cya later.
Hi Modelmaker, I know a little shop to go to in my town and that has fimo and newplast but the fimo is only £1.99, Hobby Craft must be a bit pricy because newplast is usually only 1.50 so I wonder what Hobby Craft are doing with it!
Conty, is Forbidden Planet in, like, a shopping centre or is it online?![]()

im making a model for my film BeeBop and heres a pic of the armature covered in milliputt with the plasticene arms and legs on it
What's BeeBop going to be about? What's Milliputt and where do you get it?![]()
Taar C And JB And MTS,(HEHE SOUNDS LIKE CODE NAMES)So Shall I Carry On
What is the name of the plasticine that you bake after you've made the model
FIMO,SCULPEY
mili putt is kind of plasticene to start with but if u let it set it becomes really hard so its kind of a good use for armatures and u can get it from just like a B&Q probably
BeeBop is about Dancing Bees i don't really want to give much away but they get drunk lol and it involves a fight.
I'm currently building sets and models and it should be done by late 2008
what one is better to use harry
I Think For Beginners Sculpey
yay thanks are you sure both of them are designed to be baked in the oven
i had mulliput in my christmas stocking, just tried it out today for the first time, messy!! but looks to be working im making teeth![]()
